Indian Vegetable Protein and Allied Association (IVPA) estimates India's domestic edible oil output at 9.6 million tonnes for 2025-26, covering only 40% of total demand of around 26 million tonnes. Import requirement: 16.7 million tonnes. Mix: 8-8.5 million tonnes palm oil (Indonesia/Malaysia, 84% of palm supply), 5-5.5 million tonnes soybean oil, 2.8-3 million tonnes sunflower oil.
