Reports Huayou Cobalt's partnership with tozero GmbH, a German battery recycling startup, to develop hydrometallurgical black-mass processing in Europe. The partnership targets EU Battery Passport compliance requirements taking effect February 2027 and EU minimum recycled-content rules from 2031. tozero processes spent EV battery black mass to recover lithium, cobalt, nickel, and manganese; Huayou supplies cathode active material as a downstream offtaker of recovered materials.
