Sudan Tribune reported the SAF launching a fresh Blue Nile offensive toward Kurmuk on June 27, following the June 26 capture of Malken; SAF statements framed the push as aimed at recapturing Kurmuk, the strategic border town held by the RSF-SPLM-N alliance since March. Fighting was ongoing in the Geissan and Bau localities.
