Reports the town of Seika in Kyoto Prefecture issued a Level 5 Emergency Safety Order, the highest possible, for 239 households and 529 residents in Higashihata district after a rain-triggered landslide; a separate Level 4 landslide danger warning was in effect for Ikoma in Nara, where a river overflowed and 15 homes flooded above floor level. Typhoon No. 7 (Mekkhala) continued to disrupt weekend travel across Japan into the evening.
