gCaptain · United States · IRGC strikes Evergreen container ship in Strait of Hormuz; IMO suspends evacuation support
Confirms Ever Lovely, an 8,500-TEU Evergreen vessel, was struck on the starboard side by an unknown projectile 7.5 nautical miles southeast of Dahit, Oman, with bridge damage but no casualties. Notes the attack followed IRGC radio warnings earlier that day requiring Iranian permission to transit Hormuz, and that at least three tankers visibly U-turned before the strait entry.
“Ship hit off Oman after IRGC renewed Hormuz transit warnings, bridge damaged, no crew injuries, IMO movement process suspended.”
