MercoPress confirmed Fujimori's win by 49,641 votes out of 18,397,151 cast (50.135% to 49.865%). Sánchez refused to concede and demanded the JNE annul consular votes from Argentina, Spain and the US. The JNE was expected to issue a formal proclamation by July 3, with inauguration set for July 28.
